No local affiliations yet but looking to get
involved.
Past Service on Orange County Advisory Boards:
None
Boards/Commissions appointments:
Age Range:18-34
Animal Services Advisory Board
Background, education and experience relevant to this board:
I have been a shelter volunteer since I was 15 and have volunteered at a number of shelters and
adoption agencies in MO, KS, and VA. I am currently a volunteer with the ASPCA s Animal
Rescue Unit.
Reasons for wanting to serve on this board:
I m interested in becoming more involved in Chapel Hill within the animal services field.
Conflict of Interest:
Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board:
It's important to have a diverse range of viewpoints on the ASAB to ensure that all perspectives
are considered when hearing concerns and making recommendations to the Board of County
Commissioners. As either the Chapel Hill or an at-large representative, I would bring enthusiasm
and a fresh outlook to the ASAB. I'm on the younger side of the age ranges, and I have a lot of
energy--especially for things I am passionate about (i.e., animals). While still relatively new to
the "Tar Heel State"--I moved to Chapel Hill from Virginia in 2017 and am originally from
Missouri--I have been a member of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool since March of this
year, and I would love the opportunity to be more involved.
21
