On this basis, the ASAB <br /> is unanimously making the following recommendations to the Board of County <br /> Commissioners: <br /> • Lori Gershon (position 10: animal welfare or animal advocacy): Ms. Gershon is an <br /> attorney with broad experience with animal cruelty in the legal system. <br /> Specifically, she has handled cruelty cases both as a Senior Deputy County <br /> Attorney and as an Assistant District Attorney. Ms. Gershon attended the July <br /> 2020 ASAB meeting. <br /> • Allan Polak (position 12: certified animal handler or trainer): Mr. Polak is a <br /> certified search and rescue dog handler with extensive experience handling dogs. <br /> Currently, he is a member of the Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool. He attended <br /> the January ASAB meeting. <br /> • Susan Spinks (position 13: owner or manager of retail pet services): Ms. Spinks <br /> owns Hearth and Hounds Dog Training, a dog training business based in Chapel <br /> Hill. She also manages the Dog Training Program at Paws4/Ever in Mebane.
