TBOM had been directly involved in the <br /> construction of a low cost housing facility in Polk County, prior to my membership but our Board <br /> maintained a direct contact in the management of the facility. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> Availability of decent, affordable, housing is fundamental to the functioning of a community. I am <br /> particularly concerned that public service employees (police, firemen, etc) be able to afford to <br /> live in the community. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> While living in Polk County(NC) I served as Board Member and Treasurer of The Thermal Belt <br /> Outreach Ministry(A private organization serving the needs of less fortunate residents of Polk <br /> County). During my tenure we made a thorough study of the possibility of offering affordable <br /> housing to our clients. Further, I am a "team player" believing that through teamwork and <br /> respect for the ideas of others the best results are found. <br /> If I can provide further information, please let me know.
