I ve worked with county health departments and <br /> community coalitions supporting holistic approaches to child well being. I am also conducting <br /> research on the strategies and tools used to support effective parenting support programs. <br /> Thus I feel that my work has contextual relevance to the work of the county DSS. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I am looking for opportunities to support family and child well being in my home county. I think <br /> my professional expertise could be useful and inform county priorities. Finally, I have a passion <br /> for ensuring family voice, perspective and needs are given priority and addressed effectivley. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> I believe I would add a unique viewpoint from my interests in 1)ensuring agency staff and <br /> leaders have the support and resources they need to meet their mandates and 2) ensuring that <br /> intentional learning drives program and process improvement. I also support efforts to ensure <br /> the board reflects the community and DSS clients. I am a community members but have not, to <br /> date, been a DSS client. <br /> Conflict of Interest: <br /> I am not sure if this is a conflict but I am currently part of a project supporting the integration of <br /> health care and social supports for children and families served by Medicaid in Orange, Durham, <br /> Granville, Vance and Alamance counties. This will involve Orange county DSS at some point. <br /> My role is focused on the design and improvement of certain roles within the project and will not <br /> entail significant involvement with county partners and agencies. however, in the spirit of <br />
