3 <br /> Library Services <br /> 4. Orange County Library Services has received additional funds of$7,741 from the Friends <br /> of the Orange County Library. These funds will be used to support the Library's Summer <br /> Learning program. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional <br /> funds for the above stated purpose. (Attachment 1, column #4) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> New Hope Volunteer Fire Department <br /> 5. The New Hope Volunteer Fire Department has requested $75,000 of their district's <br /> available unassigned fund balance to be used for the following items 1) $35,000 for the <br /> purchase of an Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) and trailer for use in areas that normal apparatus <br /> cannot reach; it has fire and EMS capabilities and will be a tremendous asset in wooded <br /> areas with trails too small for a normal vehicle to reach; and 2) $40,000 to begin replacing <br /> mobile radios. With this appropriation, approximately $102,800 remains in the district's <br /> unassigned fund balance. This budget amendment provides for the appropriation of <br /> $75,000 from the district's fund balance for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment <br /> 1, column #5 and Attachment 3) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Planning and Inspections Department <br /> 6. At its March 24, 2020 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved a consultant <br /> contract, not to exceed $287,218, to update the 2017 Orange County Transit Plan <br /> analyzing revenues and expenditures through 2040. This contract amount will be 100% <br /> reimbursed from the Article 43 Transit Tax proceeds.
