1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: September 1, 2020 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-i <br /> SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2020 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> David Hunt, Deputy Clerk to the Board, <br /> 919-245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2020. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of <br /> County Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any <br /> change in the Meeting Schedule. <br /> Due to current public health concerns, the Board of Commissioners will be conducting <br /> Virtual Board meetings during the months of September and October 2020 The BOCC <br /> Joint Meeting with the fire departments, originally scheduled for October 8, 2020, has been <br /> postponed until the spring of 2021 . There will be a Work Session on October 8, 2020. <br /> Members of the Board of Commissioners will be participating in the meetings remotely. As <br /> in prior meetings, members of the public will be able to view and listen to the meeting via <br /> online streaming video or on Spectrum Cable TV.
