5 <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional Grant funds and <br /> donations, and approves the creation of three (3) new time-limited Social Work positions (1 .0 <br /> FTE each) for 6 months. (See Attachment 1, column #8) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION AND <br /> INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential or <br /> economic status. <br /> Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation <br /> 10. The Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation (DEAPR) has <br /> deferred revenue for the following programs: <br /> • NC Matching Grant—As of June 30, 2020, the department has $8,316 in deferred <br /> revenue, for use in FY 2020-21, related to the Soil and Water division's NC <br /> Matching Grant, Matching funds are used for office and educational supplies, staff <br /> training and certification costs and award sponsorship. <br /> • Little River Park Donations — As of June 30, 2020, the department had received <br /> Little River Park donations of $38,936. These funds have been earmarked as <br /> deferred revenue for use in FY 2020-21 <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these deferred revenues for use in <br /> FY 20-21. The Department on Aging has deferred revenue for the following programs: <br /> • Carol Woods Donation — As of June 30, 2020, the department has $252,411 in <br /> deferred revenue, for use in FY 2020-21, related to the Carol Woods Donation. <br /> These funds will used for Master Aging Plan Initiatives, and are budgeted in the <br /> multi-year Grant Fund, outside of the General Fund. <br /> • Senior Health Insurance and Information Program (SHIIP) — As of June 30, <br /> 2020, the department had received SHIIP Funds of $12,561. These funds have <br /> been earmarked as deferred revenue for use in FY 2020-21. <br /> • Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) — As of June <br /> 30, 2020, the department had $11,826 in deferred revenue, for use in FY 2020-21, <br /> related to the MIPPA grant. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these deferred revenues for use in <br /> FY 20-21.
