<br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br />Criminal Justice Resource Department <br /> <br />13. Criminal Justice Resource Department, in conjunction with the District Court Judges <br />Office, has received $20,000 in COVID-19 Relief grant funds from Cardinal Innovations in <br />response to the Coronavirus pandemic. This award will benefit individuals with behavior <br />health issues in the Community Resource Court, Outreach Court and Pretrial Release. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these grant funds for the above stated <br />purpose. (See Attachment 1, column 10) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />Arts Commission <br /> <br />14. The Orange County Arts Commission has received $15,000 from the North Carolina <br />Arts Council. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds and will <br />apply them to support local artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 11) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: There is no Orange County Environmental Responsibility Goal <br />impact associated with these items. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Financial impacts are included in the background information above. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds in FY 2019-20 and <br />increases the General Fund by $2,752,302, the Grant Projects Fund by $54,506, the Article 46 <br />Sales Tax Fund by $100,000, the Drug Forfeiture Fund by $136,495, the Community <br />Development Fund by $335,109, the Visitors Bureau Fund by $40,000; the Housing Fund by <br />$50,000; the County Capital Reserve Fund by $8,781, the School Capital Projects Fund by <br />$1,531,923; decreases the Jail Inmate Fund by $35,070, and decreases budgeted funds within <br />the County Capital Projects Fund by $41,222,174. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board approve the budget, grant, and <br />capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2019-20. <br />6
