As a member of the council, I <br />served on various boards, including the Historic Rogers Road Task Force, Orange <br />County Visitor s Bureau, and Chapel Hill Public Art Commission. I’m proud to have <br />advanced inter-governmental relations during my time on the council, and worked closely <br />with other elected officials across the county to support visitor promotion, access to <br />voting, and public transportation and infrastructure. Since I ve left the council, I ve <br />continued to serve on the Visitor s Bureau Board as a non-voting representative of the <br />Town of Chapel Hill. Currently, I m a member of the Chapel Hill Chamber of Commerce s <br />Chapel Hill Young Professionals (CHYP) and board of directors of the Strowd Roses <br />Foundation. Professionally, I work as the executive director of the North Carolina AIDS <br />Action Network, a statewide nonprofit that advocates on behalf of those living with and at- <br />risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS. I <br />currently serve on two national boards of the American Heart Association, and served on the <br />board of directors of Truth Initiative (formerly the American Legacy Foundation), the nationâ €™s <br />largest national public health organization focused on tobacco prevention and cessation. The <br />Truth Initiative board included diverse political perspectives, and was mandated by the Master <br />Settlement Agreement to included two governors, two attorney generals, and two state <br />legislators, one from each political party.
