Presentation of Manager's Recommended Fiscal Year 2020-21 Annual <br /> 28 Operating Budget <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The Board received the Manager's Recommended FY 2020-21 Annual Operating <br /> 31 Budget. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 BACKGROUND: <br /> 34 Each year during the month of May, the County Manager presents the Board of County <br /> 35 Commissioners with a recommended spending plan for the next fiscal year. During the <br /> 36 meeting, the Manager will provide a brief presentation of the Recommended FY 2020-21 <br /> 37 Annual Operating Budget. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 The Board of County Commissioners will conduct two Budget Public Hearings—the first <br /> 40 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, which will be a Virtual Budget Public Hearing, <br /> 41 and the second on Thursday, June 4, 2020 (Meeting Format or Location To Be <br /> 42 Determined). In addition, the Board has scheduled the following Budget Work Sessions: <br /> 43 <br /> 44 . May 14, 2020 — Budget Work Session with Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, <br /> 45 Orange County Schools, Durham Technical Community College, and Outside <br /> 46 Agencies. <br /> 47 o This will be a Virtual Budget Work Session. <br /> 48 • May 21, 2020 — Budget Work Session with Fire Districts, and County <br /> 49 Departments within the following Functional Leadership Teams: Public Safety <br /> 50 (Courts, Criminal Justice Resource Department, Emergency Services, and <br /> 51 Sheriff); Support Services (Asset Management Services, Community Relations, <br /> 52 Finance and Administrative Services, Human Resources, and Information <br /> 53 Technology); General Government (Board of County Commissioners, Board of <br />
