4 <br /> <br />Commissioner Price asked if there is a timeline for the loss and the deficit, and does this <br />budget take into account a certain timeline of the economy reopening, or the virus maybe <br />coming back in the fall. <br />Bonnie Hammersley said it is based on what staff is hearing from the experts, who say <br />the recovery may last 12-24 months, but it is unclear when that recovery will start. She said <br />these numbers take into account that they will be looking at least a year, but there may be <br />adjustments needed mid-year. <br /> <br />2. Durham Technical Community College – Orange County Campus <br />FY 2020-21 Operating Budget Presentation and Discussion <br /> DR. INGRAM-DTCC PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Durham Technical Community College (DTCC) - Orange County Campus FY 2020-21 <br />Operating Budget Request includes $777,954 for Operations (an increase of $54,698) and <br />Capital Outlay Funds of $75,000 (no change from FY 2019-20). The increase in Current <br />Operations includes a 2.5% increase for salaries and benefits to match the expected increases <br />for state paid employees, continue to pay all employees a livable wage, and funds to cover back <br />increases in retirement that had not been requested in the past. The request also includes <br />Orange County’s portion of a new HVAC Technician position to support the increase in facility <br />maintenance needs, as well as a 2% cost increase in utilities, contracted services, and <br />insurance, and a 5% increase for equipment and facility repairs. Their request also includes <br />continuing the funding of $200,000 for 200 scholarships for Orange County residents attending <br />DTCC.
