9 <br /> <br />FY2020-25 Recommended Capital Investment Plan <br /> <br />CHCCS Upgrade security cameras, radios and intercom systems in <br />schools <br />$500,000 <br />CHCCS HVAC Projects <br />• Phillips Middle School HVAC Replacement- <br />gym ($291,258) <br />• Phillips Middle School HVAC/Heat pumps- <br />band room ($290,000) <br />• Ephesus Elementary School HVAC controls <br />($100,000) <br />$681,258 <br />CHCCS Architectural & Engineering Feasibility& Design Services <br />for large capital projects to be completed in Year 2 & Year <br />3 <br />$1,300,000 <br />OCS Continuation of Districtwide Safety/Security Plan $3,500,000 <br />OCS Orange High School Main Hall, Restroom Addition and <br />Renovations <br />$650,000 <br /> TOTAL $6,631,258 <br /> <br />Chair Rich referred to the architectural and engineering feasibility item, and asked if <br />CHCCS has outlined how it would spend the $1.3 million, as it seems a very high number. <br />Travis Myren said CHCCS would do a deep dive into 3 options, and get some clear <br />ideas or possibly bid documents. He said staff will follow up for this deliverable. <br />Commissioner Price asked if CHCCS indicated the need to build new schools. <br />Travis Myren said one option would add some capacity, and the other options would be <br />for renovations. <br />Commissioner Dorosin asked if there is a reason why CHCCS’ first year request has <br />increased. <br />Travis Myren said the total is the same, but some funds shifted from year 3 to year 1. <br />Chair Rich asked if all of the funds are being borrowed at one time.
