3 <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs, and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing, and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Housing and Community Development <br /> 6. The Orange County Housing and Community Development Department received <br /> notification from Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on May 4, 2020 of the award of <br /> additional Administrative Funding in the amount of $79,370 for use toward the Section 8 <br /> Housing Choice Voucher Program. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> these funds for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column #4) <br /> 7. The Orange County Housing and Community Development Department received <br /> notification from HUD in September 2019 of obligation to repay the HOME program in the <br /> amount of $9,261. This budget amendment provides for an additional transfer from the <br /> General Fund to the Community Development Fund in the amount of $9,261 and <br /> increases expenditure authorization for HOME program costs by the same amount. (See <br /> Attachment 1, column #5) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Animal Services <br /> 8. The Orange County Animal Services Department has received $500 in Community Giving <br /> funds to stock a pet food pantry for community members during the economic stresses <br /> presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. This amendment allows for receipt of these funds <br /> and appropriates for use consistent with the intent of the donations. (See Attachment 1, <br /> column #6) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br /> associated with this item. <br />
