Efland Cheeks Global: 1 classroom: 16 children: 12 are NC Pre-K and/or Title 1, 4 EC <br /> 10 placements <br /> 11 3. New Hope Elementary: 1 classroom: 18 children: 14 are NC Pre-K and/or Title 1, 4 EC <br /> 12 placements <br /> 13 4. Pathways Elementary(PES): 1 classroom: 16 children: 12 are NC Pre-K and/or Title 1, 4 <br /> 14 EC placements, 2 EC push-in placements (from PES EC Pre-K classrooms and don't <br /> 15 count in our reimbursement) <br /> 16 <br /> 17 All licensed Title 1 Blended Pre-K classrooms have 5-star(highest) quality ratings from the NC <br /> 18 Division of Child Development and Early Learning. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 There are currently 79 age eligible children on the Title 1 Blended Pre-K waiting list for the <br /> 21 2019-2020 school year. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 EC Pre-K Classrooms <br /> 24 OCS also serves two additional EC Pre-K classrooms at PES; each serving up to 10 children, for <br /> 25 a total of 20 EC Pre-K placements. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Head Start <br /> 28 Head Start is a program of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that <br /> 29 provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement <br /> 30 services to low income children and families. The program's services and resources are designed <br /> 31 to foster stable family relationships, enhance children's physical and emotional well-being, and <br /> 32 establish an environment to develop strong cognitive skills (Wikipedia). <br /> 33 <br /> 34 There are three Head Start classrooms, one is housed at Central ES, one at Efland Cheeks Global <br /> 35 ES and one at Pathways ES; all are operated by the OC Head Start program.
