Agenda Item #1 <br /> Attachment C <br /> Board of Education <br /> The Orange County Board of Education is the local governing board of the Orange County Schools system. The <br /> Orange County Board of Education consists of a seven member board, elected to serve four-year, staggered terms. <br /> One of the primary functions of the board is to set policy for the district. The district's policies are then imple- <br /> mented by the Superintendent and the administrative staff. In addition to setting policy for the district, the Board is <br /> responsible for adopting and presenting a proposed budget each year. The proposed budget is submitted to the Or- <br /> ange County Board of Commissioners. The budget includes the request for local funding, and it includes plans for <br /> the expenditure of state and federal funds.
