Resolution 919-245-2627 <br /> PURPOSE: To: <br /> 1.) Approve a five year lease agreement with Cellco Partnership (dba Verizon Wireless) for <br /> space on the wall and roof of the Sportsplex, located at 101 Meadowlands Drive in <br /> Hillsborough, for the installation, operation and maintenance of communications equipment; <br /> and <br /> 2.) Authorize the Chair to sign the Resolution for Lease, and the Manager to sign the Non- <br /> Disturbance and Attornment Agreement, and Lease Agreement upon final review by the <br /> County Attorney. <br /> BACKGROUND: Cellco Partnership (dba Verizon Wireless) is one of the largest providers of <br /> cellular service in the country. In an effort to improve cellular service within the Sportsplex facility <br /> as well as to the surrounding businesses and residents, Cellco partnership wants to install a small <br /> communications tower on the roof of the northeast portion of the Sportsplex facility and additional <br /> equipment on the northeast wall of the facility. <br /> The overall size of the tower will be just 5 feet and 5 inches over the existing parapet wall at the <br /> Sportsplex. The site illustration includes an elevation drawing (see 4t" page of Attachment 1). <br /> The lease would be for an initial term of five years with the automatic renewal of one five-year <br /> term. The lease specifies the rental fee of$1,800 a year. The annual rental for the potential five- <br /> year extension term would be increased by 1.5% over the base rate. <br />
