information was shared with the elected officials of the County at the Assembly of Governments <br />Meeting, <br />At the .June 21 PPG meeting, the PPC considered a listing of energy sustainable features, <br />infrastructure far which could be included in the project if funding allows, (Please see <br />Attachment A) The PPG discussed inclusion of infrastructure for: the Solar Water Heater, <br />portions of the Computer Based Energy Management System, design to accommodate future <br />Geothermal HVAC and full implementation of the Rainwater Capture System, <br />Southern Community Park <br />The Southern Community Park will be a 70-acre park located south of Southern Village and <br />west of 15-501. The master plan indicates that the site will be over 50% natural, Most of the <br />developed portions of the site are located adjacent to Highway 15-501, The County and the <br />Town have approved phasing of the park. The Town has recently approved a SUP far the <br />project. Phase I facilities along with remaining master plan facilities are included in Attachment <br />B, Of the remaining facilities, the PPC recommended applying the PARTF funding to: 1) <br />Lighting 3 athletic fields, 2) Maintenance Building, and 3) Basketball courts, An additional <br />$17,000 was recommended for allocation to the Arts component of the project and it was <br />suggested that remaining funds go toward enhancing the children's play area. <br />The Town Council is scheduled to consider these recommendations for action on June 27, <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: No financial impact an the County budget is associated with these <br />issues, although they could have impacts on Town funding for the projects, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board consider the <br />recommendations from the PPC on both projects and authorize the Chair to send a letter to the <br />Town expressing Orange County's support. <br />
