Task Force <br />members. <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange County Board of Commissioners adopted a Master Aging Plan <br />on March 6, 2001 that covered the period 2000-2005, The Plan has provided a rcad map for <br />the improvement of community services and opportunities for older citizens over the life span <br />who have different levels of functional capacity, It is now time to review the M.A.P, <br />accomplishments and begin updating the plan for the years 2006-2010, The first step will be <br />the advertisement for members for the M.A,P, Task Force's four committees: (1) Steering <br />Committee, (2) Well/Fit Older Adult Subcommittee, (3) Disabled /Moderately Impaired Older <br />Adult Subcommittee and (4) the Severely Impaired /Institutionalized Older Adult Subcommittee, <br />The Advisory Board on Aging recommended updating the Master Aging Plan at its .June 7th <br />meeting. <br />The following is a preliminary timeline for updating the M,A.P for BOCC review: <br />(1) June 23, 2005 - BOCC approve the updating of M,A.P for 2006-2010. <br />(2) July-August, 2005 -Advertise for prospective M,A,P, Task Force Members, <br />(3) September, 2005 - BOCC approve the M,A.P. membership appointments, charge, and <br />timeline. <br />(4) September -December, 2005 -Committees review adapted MAP accomplishments far <br />2000-2005 and identify issues, goals and objectives for 2006-2010, <br />(5) January-February, 2006 - M.AP, Steering Committee reviews and approves draft MAP <br />for submission to elected boards, <br />(6) March -April, 2006 -Present the M,A.P, to the public and elected boards (Chapel Hill, <br />Carrboro, Hillsborough, Mebane) for review and comment, <br />
