2 <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, <br /> residential or economic status. <br /> Health Department <br /> 3. The Health Department has received additional State funds of $8,000 from the <br /> Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health. These funds will <br /> be used in the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) program to <br /> support an intern position, training, and materials costs related to the program. This <br /> budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above stated <br /> purposes. Orange County Animal Services has received $28,804 in Community Giving donations. <br /> These funds will be used toward the care of seized animals. At its January 21, 2020 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved the 2020 <br /> Greene Tract Resolution and Interlocal Agreement between Orange County, the Town of <br /> Chapel Hill, and the Town of Carrboro to jointly fund the costs of an environmental <br /> assessment related to the Greene Tract. The estimated cost for the environmental <br /> assessment is $40,000, with an approved cost share agreement of 43% Orange County, <br /> 43% Chapel Hill, and 14% Carrboro.
