Based on the available information (noted above), the following assumptions apply:
• Rates associated with overtime work are at 1.5 times the listed hourly rates in the attached fee
schedule and rates shown on the Fee Summary. Overtime for our services is defined as work on
the project by a single person in excess of 8 hours per day and all time on weekends, Summit
recognized holidays, and night shifts;
• Weekend and/or night work is not anticipated for this project;
• We assume a workday will consist of a normal 8-hour day;
• Crews will be working at a pace and distance from one another such that 1 field personnel per
day is sufficient to observe the work, with the exception of slab and grout pours which may
require 2 field personnel;
• We anticipate our services being needed 1 full-time inspector (8 hours/day) over a 12-month
period. Assuming 22 work days in a month,this equals approximately 264 days (or 2,112 hours).
Per Special Inspections requirements, we also anticipate needing an additional technician onsite
for 5 months during this timeframe. This equals approximately 110 days (or 880 hours) for a
second man onsite.
• We assume 1.5 hours a week for 100 weeks for Project Management tasks during construction.
• Laboratory testing and compaction testing will be performed in accordance with ASTM standards.
LIMITATIONS
Our work will be performed in a manner consistent with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
other members of Summit's profession practicing in the same locality, under similar conditions, and at
the date the services are provided. Our conclusions, opinions, and recommendations will be based on a
limited number of observations and data. It is possible that conditions could vary between or beyond the
data evaluated. In all cases, the contractor is solely responsible for the direction and quality of the work,
adherence to plans and specifications, and repair of defects regardless of when they are found. Summit
makes no guarantee or warranty, express or implied, regarding the services, communication (oral or
written), report, opinion, or instrument of service provided.
Safety of our employees is of paramount concern to Summit. You will be notified if the location of the
project represents a potential safety concern to our employees. Unsafe conditions for field work will
require a modification of our estimated scope of work and associated fees. We will advise you of the
additional costs necessary to mitigate these unanticipated conditions, if applicable.
