Services 131 West Margaret Lane Hillsborough, NC 27278 Reference: Proposal for Construction Materials Testing(CMT) and Special Inspections(SI)Services Detention Center, EAC and POB (Northern Campus Expansion) Hillsborough, North Carolina Summit Proposal No.: T19-0043 Dear Ms. Barnes, Summit Design and Engineering Services,PLLC is pleased to present this proposal to perform Construction Material Testing(CMT) and Special Inspections(SI)services for the above reference project.As a provider of professional engineering services, Summit brings a proven successful inspections and testing team led by experienced engineers, engineering technicians and project managers. The purpose of our services is to provide construction observation and testing services, as required by code, to assess compliance with project documents.The following information forms the basis of this proposal and our scope of services: • Summit's review of the project Detention Center plans and specifications revised 7/10/2019; • Summit's review of the project EAC and POB plans and specifications revised 7/10/2019; • Summit's understanding of the required Special Inspections for the project; • General construction schedule provided by Resolute dated 7/29/2019; • Summit's past experience on projects of similar size and scope, and PROJECT UNDERSTANDING We understand that this project will consist constructing 3 new facilities at the Northern Campus, as described below. • Orange County Detention Center — New 55,000 SF detention facility to include administrative offices, common areas, kitchen and booking wing, visitation area and inmate cells. Construction to consist of: typical shallow foundations, reinforced concrete, load bearing masonry and structural steel framing. • Orange County Environmental and Agricultural Center (EAC) — New 17,247 SF environment and agricultural center, to include administrative offices and multipurpose program and meeting spaces for County, State and Federal departments serving the agricultural community. This building is a single-story, steel-framed structure, with brick veneer cladding, fully sprinklered. • Orange County Parks Operations Base — New 8,692 SF government services operations base, to include administrative offices, staff workroom, and equipment and maintenance storage space for the Parks Division of the Orange County Dept. of the Environment, Agriculture, Parks, and Recreation. This building is a single-story, pre-engineered metal structure with metal panel cladding,fully sprinklered.
