o Signature (10/08/2019): Accepted as written; follow-up visit concerns identified.

• Ombudsman Report (Autumn Cox, Ombudsman)
o Inspectors from the Division of Health Service Regulation have visited all our
community facilities; Autumn shared the following information with us:
✓ Carol Woods – some deficiencies: documentation issues included lack of
bowel training with incontinent care not being done properly
✓ Carolina Point – lengthy report including: staff responsiveness; assessment
timing for care planning; food preparation and medication. Autumn has
helped with staff training; corrective actions accepted
o Leadership Training went very well and speakers well received. Many information
discussions by attendees and important questions clarified about recruiting strategies.

• Department on Aging (Annie Deaver)
o Caregiver Day of Care (planned for Nov 9, 2019): This day of wellness will be an
annual event beginning November 9, 2019 between 10am and 2pm at the Seymour
center. Partners & care givers may pre register; provided with options for wellness
events as well as other activities. Annie reported that vendors have been very helpful
with donations of food, gift certificates and helping to set up a respite room. The
department is most appreciative of their generosity.
o Caregiver Support Groups are offered for Parkinsons, Grief Support and Wellness for
care partners.
o The department continues to have a “puzzle corner” at the Seymour Center filled with
donations from the community. It’s proving to be very popular.

• Reminders: Individual quarterly reports are due in January 2020; Quarterly site visits
reports due when visit is completed with copies filed with the Ombudsman and
Committee Chair.

• Next meeting begins our new schedule of four times as year: February 4, 2020, 5:30pm,
Seymour Center.

Respectfully submitted,
Martha Bell, Secretary
