CTC Proposal to Orange County – Public Works to Animal Services <br />Page 23 <br /> <br />Mitchell Hergett | Senior Engineer <br /> <br />Mitch Hergett is an experienced communications engineer with expertise in the design and <br />implementation of broadband (video, voice, and data) telecommunications networks. Mitch’s <br />work focuses on project management and engineering analysis for public sector clients. <br /> <br />For example, he provides ongoing project management support and engineering analysis for <br />Anne Arundel County, Maryland’s fiber network. He supports day-to-day operations and the <br />County’s initiatives to expand the network. His tasks include: <br />x Overseeing engineering design and deliverables <br />x Developing IFB documentation for fiber construction and maintenance <br />x Managing fiber allocations and splice design for the network <br />x Creating construction vendor task orders <br />x Coordinating with network stakeholders <br /> <br />Mitch’s work also includes internal project management for many of CTC’s consulting and <br />engineering projects. In this role, he acts as the point person for clients nationwide; schedules <br />CTC tasks and teams; and tracks project deliverables. Mitch has recently performed this work for <br />CTC’s projects in the following jurisdictions: <br />x County of Seattle, Washington <br />x Kansas State Department of Transportation <br />x County of San Francisco, California <br />x County of Virginia Beach, Virginia <br /> <br />He also provides project management support for Montgomery County, Maryland’s fiber <br />network, FiberNet. He works directly under the FiberNet manager helping to manage staff, create <br />project plans, develop cost estimates and budget numbers, and coordinate with County <br />stakeholders. <br /> <br />Mitch’s experience includes supporting the design and implementation of a variety of fiber <br />communications networks. Some select examples of his work include: <br />x Developing technical specifications for the construction of a fiber optic network in the <br />County of Atlanta. The network will connect traffic signals, police cameras, and County <br />facilities. The County is also looking to expand the network to support other government <br />partners. Mitch has performed similar work for many public sector entities, including: <br />o Arlington County, Virginia <br />o Baltimore County Public Schools <br />o Delaware Department of Transportation <br />o Town of Holly Springs, North Carolina <br />o County of Westminster, Maryland <br />x Performing engineering and construction oversight of a fiber optic network build out for <br />Leisure World of Maryland. Mitch oversaw the field engineering work to connect all <br />Leisure World facilities to allow the consolidation of its data and voice networks.
