Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br /> Members Present: Douglas Boemker, Keith Cook (Chair), Tammy Jacobs, Ellie <br /> Kinnaird, Allison Mahaley, Mae McLendon, Blake Rosser, Jenn Sykes, Cain Twyman <br /> Members Absent: Alison Brown, Olivia Fisher, Noah Oswald, Narayanan <br /> Venkatakrishnan Parlikad, Nannie Richmond <br /> Staff Present: Sherrill Hampton, Housing and Community Development Director and <br /> Diane Beecham, Community Development Specialist <br /> I. Call to Order/Introductions — The Chair, Mr. Kevin Cook, called the meeting <br /> to order at 6:10 pm. <br /> II. Approval of Minutes — On a motion by Blake Rosser and seconded by Mae <br /> McLendon, the Board unanimously approved the meeting minutes of <br /> November 11, 2018, January 8, 2019 and February 12, 2019. <br /> III. Board Members' Comments — Ms. Mahaley provided the book Evicted to <br /> Board members and indicated that there will be two facilitated discussions of <br /> the book at a Community Read program sponsored by the Department of <br /> Human Relations. Ms. Kinnaird stated that she wanted to make the Board <br /> aware of an article in The Guardian about the Blackstone Group, one of the <br /> largest landlords in the area, and their aggressive eviction policy. Jenn Sykes <br /> stated that the Westside Neighborhood Group will be meeting with the Town <br /> of Chapel Hill on May 9t" to discuss the results of a survey. <br /> FY 2019-2020 Outside Agency Applications — The Board reviewed and scored the <br /> following outside agency applications: <br /> ■ Center for Community Self-Help Northside Neighborhood Initiative; <br /> ■ Community Empowerment Fund Advocate Program; <br /> ■ EmPOWERment, Inc.; <br /> ■ Habitat for Humanity; <br /> ■ Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, Inc. Safe and Healthy Home Solutions. <br /> Of these five applications, the Center for Community Self-Help application was the sole <br /> new application and thus scored on the rescaled application scorecard which does not <br /> include the Program Results section. The remaining agencies have filed applications in <br /> previous years. The Board's numerical scores and key discussion points are as follows: <br /> Page 1 <br />
