With losing the FAN advocates , including the bilingual advocate , all Spanish- speaking referrals are on <br /> hold until the position is filled . They are reviewing cases that are appropriate to close and utilizing <br /> language resources to help translate/interpret for current Spanish- speaking cases . <br /> DJJ Data — June : 11 distinct juveniles , 15 complaints , 3 approved for court , 8 juveniles diverted , 0 <br /> juveniles admitted to detention, 0 juvenile admitted to Wrenn House , 0 electronic monitoring <br /> activations , 0 days on electronic monitoring , and 0 juveniles committed to YDC . June ' s complaints <br /> received included disorderly conduct, communicating threats , and 3 felony charges for breaking into <br /> federal vehicles ; all charges were taken out by law enforcement officers . <br /> When comparing FYI 6 - 17 and FYI 7 - 18 numbers , there were double the number of youth at intake <br /> and 58 more complaints , almost twice as many youth were diverted this past FY, the number of <br /> detentions dropped from 9 to 2 and the number of days also dropped from 61 to 10 . There were about <br /> as many youth that utilized Wrenn House , but they utilized 50 % more days this past FY than in FYI 6 - <br /> 17 . And the number of youth on electronic monitoring remained about the same , but the total number <br /> of days increased from 180 to 265 . <br /> July : 1 distinct juvenile , 3 complaints , 3 approved for court, 0 juveniles diverted, 0 juveniles admitted <br /> to detention, 1 juvenile admitted to Wrenn House for 29 days , 0 electronic monitoring activations , 0 <br /> days on electronic monitoring , and 0 juveniles committed to YDC . Some suggestions may be someone associated with a community service <br /> worksite , or a volunteer within your organization but is employed within the business community , or a <br /> parent of a former child served by one of our programs . <br /> Election of Officers — Donna King , Chair of the Nominating Committee , through communication with <br /> the council members , presents the following slate of officers : <br /> Chair — Bernard Miles (no challenge ) <br /> Vice Chair — Sherita Cobb (no challenge) . <br /> JCPC Chair called for a vote and the presented slate of officers was unanimously approved . <br /> Training Opportunity — JCPC funds are available to help pay for registration to attend the National <br /> Symposium on Juvenile Services that will be held in October in Greensboro at the Koury Center . <br /> Community Programs is also offering an opportunity for scholarships for cost of registration and <br /> rooms . There is a form that needs to be completed and submitted to the state . <br /> Sherita attended the Restorative Practices training in Seattle about 3 weeks ago and had an amazing <br /> time . In the schools they are trying to use the practice to help students learn to support each other and <br /> hold each other accountable — " our classroom" and " our learning environment" and help them take <br /> ownership of their environment . Sherita brought back lots of information on how to incorporate circles <br /> with students ( and appropriate adults) involved with juvenile justice who offended within the school <br />
