Meg will reach out to the Superintendent of Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools <br /> to see about getting someone (Janet) appointed to as designee to represent CHCCS . <br /> Kate knows plenty of teens who may be able to serve as the Youth Under 18 representatives and <br /> will reach out to them . She does have kids who are interested but wants to run it by the parents <br /> first because it will involve some missed school to attend the meetings . <br /> Conflict of Interest Forms — All board members must sign a COI for the new fiscal year . Please <br /> complete if you haven ' t already for this fiscal year and leave with Rebekah or Meg . <br /> Subcommittee Sign - Ups — Monitoring Committee happens during the month of January during <br /> varies days and times . You don ' t have to be available to monitor all programs , but any would be <br /> a help . JCPC helped by providing funds for lunch . <br /> OCS is also gearing up for their Red Ribbon Week ( October 23 - 31 ) . This is a week where they <br /> work with elementary kids around drug and alcohol abuse and promoting making good decisions <br /> (health and not bullying) . <br /> Hidden in Plain Sight is gearing up to be held in December ( during Toy Chest event) in <br /> partnership with Orange Partnership for Alcohol and Drug Free Youth and Social Services . This <br /> is a program where a "teen room" is staged and parents go through to see how many items they <br /> can identify that would indicate possible alcohol and drug use , as well as other risky behaviors . <br /> The program is in need of furniture , paraphernalia, posters , etc . to help stage the room . All items <br /> will be borrowed and returned . <br /> Question was asked about status of raising the age in NC for juvenile court and what the <br /> potential impact could be . Peggy attended Raise the Age conference a couple weeks ago with <br /> State personnel and that there is going to be a lot of planning , meetings , and discussions to <br />
