i <br /> Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council Meeting <br /> Friday, December 4, 2015 (12 : OOnoon — 2 : OOpm) <br /> Southern Human Services Center <br /> Chapel Hill, NC <br /> p <br /> Proposed Minutes <br /> Attendees : Meg McGurk, Donna King, Tom Velivil, Lee Barnes , Bernard Miles, Kristi <br /> Price, Jeff Reilly, Tina Sykes, Austin Sykes , Ashley Taylor, Mia Burroughs , Jay Bryan, <br /> Peggy Hamlett, Carol McClelland, Gayane Chambless, Danielle Butler, Nathan Ligo , Susan <br /> Worley, Marci White, Val Hanson, Paul Atherton, Tom McQuiston, Denise Briggs (*Members <br /> in Bold) <br /> Welcome <br /> The meeting opened with a welcome from Chair, Meg McGurk and introductions . <br /> Minutes Review and Approval <br /> The Council reviewed the minutes . Kristi Price motioned for minutes to be approved and was <br /> seconded by Lee Barnes . Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Agency Roundtable <br /> Chair asked for programs to give an update . <br /> School Liaison — This term the program has held 32 youth planning conferences for 16 different <br /> students at 7 different schools . Marie Lamoureaux will be retiring. <br /> Volunteers for Youth — Nothing big to report, moving along as usual . Sponsored a session on <br /> policy on how to have youth respond to questions about criminal history. Had a lot of turn out <br /> for that session. <br /> MHAT — FAN program has served 35 kids so far and goal is 75 . Currently have 19 active cases . <br /> Also, provided 130 family consultations . Completed 3 of Common Sense Parenting classes . We <br /> have 2 additional classes already scheduled for Toddler/Pre- School and are beginning a support <br /> group . Orange Psych has 10 referrals, has fmished 5 and has 5 more in process . Continuing to <br /> have coffee and conversation event, with the next session on Dec 10 at their office . <br /> Dispute Settlement Center — Finishing up current session of Family Table next week and have <br /> served 10 youth and an average of 5 to 10 adults this session. The next session of Family Table <br /> will start March 1 and is looking for referrals . Restorative Justice Program has served all but 1 <br /> of the goal for this year. <br /> Haven/Wrenn House — Have served 5 Orange County kids for total of 77 days . Today is House <br /> Manger Russell ' s last day and Danielle ' s last day is Wednesday. We did promote someone from <br /> within to replace Russell so there will be some consistency there . Danielle will email Rebekah <br /> and Peggy with the names and contact info of the replacements . <br /> Lipo Doio — We are targeted to serve 16 youth this year and we have served 6 . The overall state <br /> of the program is stronger than it has ever been in terms of the role models for the kids . We are <br /> open to referrals from any program. <br /> DJJData — For the month of October there were 7 juveniles at intake, 13 complaints received, 3 <br /> juveniles approved for court, 6 juveniles put on plan or contract, 7 school related offenses, 1 <br /> Juvenile placed in detention for 5 days, 1 juvenile at Wrenn House for 19 days, and 3 different <br /> youth on electronic monitoring for 30 days . <br />
