Orange County Plan Addendum: "Raise the Age" Priorities <br /> The Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) seeks to maximize available allocation funding by addressing the <br /> priorities of the Raise the Age legislation in the areas of targeted intervention programming for 16-17 year old offenders in the juvenile <br /> justice system by seeking to do the following (check all that apply): <br /> ® Increase the capacity of existing programming to address additional 16-17 year olds entering and/or being retained in the juvenile <br /> justice system; <br /> ® Provide funding for new programming to 16-17 year olds via additional components in existing programs or newly funded programs <br /> ❑ Seek collaboration from surrounding counties to provide funding for multi-county programming focusing on 16-17 year olds in a <br /> district or region. <br /> "Raise the Age" program priorities include: <br /> ❑ Mentoring Services ® Restitution/Community Service ❑ Sexual Offender Treatment <br /> ❑ Parent/Family Skill Building ® Teen Court ❑ Group Home <br /> ❑ Interpersonal Skill Building ❑ Psychological Assessments ❑ Temporary Shelter <br /> ❑ Vocational Skills ❑ Counseling ® Runaway Shelter <br /> ❑ Experiential Skills ❑ Home Based Family Counseling ❑ Specialized Foster Care <br /> ❑ Tutoring/Academic Enhancement ❑ Crisis Counseling ❑ Temporary Foster Care <br /> ® Mediation ❑ Substance Abuse Treatment ❑ Juvenile Structured Day <br /> Data reviewed by the JCPC as well as a county Resource Assessment focusing on the full range of juvenile jurisdiction proposed by <br /> Raise the Age indicates the following gaps that the additional programs indicated above will seek to address: increase of referrals for <br /> community service and/or restitution, an increase of referrals to teen court, to address a need for mediation (school based) and <br /> residential services for shelter care. <br />
