o E
Proposed Policy Objectives
1 . If a jurisdiction wishes to introduce a candidate project for potential
County funding, the proposal should follow the following process :
• A written request should be submitted to the Board of Commissioners ;
• The request , along with staff comments , shall be presented at a Board
of Commissioners meeting as a report ;
• The request will be referred to the InterGovernmental Parks (IP) Work
Group for a recommendation . The IP Work Group will be used as the
" sounding board" for potential joint parks projects , especially those
proposed for County financial participation ;
• If the proposed project would be co - located with a school , a
recommendation from the Schools and Land Use Council shall also be
solicited ;
• The Board of Commissioners will then review the recommendation (s)
and make a decision on " conditional approval" of the joint project
(using adopted criteria and this policy statement) ;
2 . Any proposed project for County funding must be consistent with the
Board' s adopted criteria and guidelines of December 7 , 1999 (amended
May 3 , 2000) , which specifies eligibility of projects , locational criteria and
matching fund expectations .
