Trails Pro ram . <br /> Completion of existing projects with an N / A <br /> adopted facility Ian <br /> Contains a site identified in the NO - It does , however, include 150 - 180 <br /> Inventory of Natural Areas and Wildlife acres of mature hardwoods identified as <br /> Habitats of Orange County , N . C . prime forest wildlife habitat in the 1999 <br /> inventory conducted for Orange County . <br /> Compatibility of planned park use with YES - Potential park uses include low . <br /> adjacent land uses impact recreation ( hiking / nature trails ) <br /> and seasonal hunting . Hunting would be <br /> compatible as long as there were clear <br /> and appropriate rules established and <br /> enforced so as not to adversely impact <br /> the surrounding land uses . ( e . g . , a <br /> se aration of uses during hunting season <br /> Appropriate intensity of use for the area YES - A public park featuring low - impact <br /> recreation would blend into with this <br /> sparsely populated area of the County . <br /> Cane Creek watershed protection area <br /> Location YES - The site would help satisfy park <br /> needs identified in Parks Element of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan by establishing the <br /> " Bingham - Cane Creek District Park . " <br /> Promotes continuity of wildlife corridors , YES - Could provide an alternate link to <br /> rustic trails and linear parks proposed Cane Creek to Seven Mile <br /> Creek/ Eno River rustic woodland trail and <br /> wildlife corridor . <br /> Land is adjacent to new schools NO - Closest schools are 4 . 5 miles away . <br /> ( Efland - Cheeks Elementary ; Cedar Ridge <br /> High , Grady Brown Elementary ) <br /> Land for active recreation is suitable and MAYBE - Site includes areas that may be <br /> appropriate for planned uses suitable for active recreation , but would <br /> require clearing and access may be <br /> difficult . OWASA prefers not to allow <br /> active recreation at this site . The <br /> reservoir permit may ose limitations . <br /> Furthers purposes of Upper Eno and NO - Site is located outside of those <br /> New Hope Corridor preservation efforts riparian corridors . <br />
