Item: Gymnasium <br /> The Town's Comprehensive Recreation and Master Park Plan strongly recommends <br /> the construction of a gymnasium inclusive'of two basketball courts, meeting room, <br /> and office and storage spaces. The New Century/New Carrboro committee also <br /> endorses this project as critical to meeting general and athletic programming needs in <br /> the community. Operating Impact: It is anticipated that an equivalent of 2.5 <br /> positions will be needed to operate the gymnasium. Other operating costs will <br /> support contracted services for a Facility Supervisor, maintenance contractors, <br /> computers, desks, and other office supplies. Total operating cost is estimated at <br /> $135,122. <br /> Cost: $3,788,688 <br /> Year: FY2010—2011 <br /> Funding Source: GO Bond <br /> LISTED BELOW ARE PROJECTS THAT ARE ONGOING AND MULTI- <br /> YEAR IN SCOPE: <br /> Item:, Sidewalks, Bikeways, and Greenways <br /> The New Century/New Carrboro committee, honoring the Town's reputation for <br /> being pedestrian and bike-friendly, recommends engaging iA concerted program of <br /> sidewalk, bikeway, and greenway improvements.
