In February 1992 , Orange County adopted the "New Hope Corridor Space Master Plan <br /> The master plan proposed creating a wildlife habitat including hiking and biking trails along a twenty- <br /> three mile protected corridor from rural Orange County to Jordan Lake . <br /> Jointly funded by Orange and Durham Counties , Town of Chapel Hill , City of Durham, and various <br /> private donors , this effort " is coordinated through the Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) . TLC is currently <br /> working with landowners in . both counties regarding donating and selling land or easements to fulfill the <br /> master plan . Orange County' s Recreation and Parks Department and Planning Department will work with <br /> f�_ <br /> TLC in developing an annual work plan and strategy for acquiring land , <br /> The impact of this project on future operating budgets will be developed as land is acquired . <br /> t <br />
