Current Capital Improvement Plans and Available <br /> Funding <br /> At present, each jurisdiction has varying levels of funding available for <br /> parkland acquisition and facilities development — whether part of <br /> currently- available funds from bonds and other sources, or programmed <br /> as part of long -term capital improvement plans (CIP 's) . <br /> Note. While the following parks projects are in current Town and County <br /> CIP s, it does not automatically follow that each project is funded. The <br /> actual appropriation of funds to projects is done annually through the <br /> budget process. <br /> The following sections provide an overview of current available , <br /> programmed or planned parks ( Note : More complete information <br /> submitted from the jurisdictions may be found as Appendix 1 ) : <br /> A . Carrboro - Capital Parks and Recreation Proiects <br /> As shown in Appendix 1 , the Town of Carrboro is currently engaged in <br /> planning for a number of parks projects, some of which are or could be <br /> multi jurisdictional in scope . The first two projects have some limited <br /> funds previously, committed ; the rest remain unfunded at this time . <br /> Smith Middle School <br /> Community park, in conjunction with Orange County and Chapel Hill and the Chapel Hill- <br /> Carrboro City Schools . Cost of $ 465, 000, over two fiscal years (00 and 01 ) . The Town <br /> . and County have committed $75, 000 each toward a soccer field within this project. <br /> Hillsborough Road Park <br /> Small park to serve several north Carrboro neighborhoods . Could include outdoor <br /> swimming pool (see below) . Cost of $ 1 . 245 million over three fiscal years ( FY00 -02) . The <br /> land has been purchased, and master planning funded . The master plan is due January, <br /> 2001 . <br /> Outdoor Swimming Pool <br /> Proposed for location at Hillsborough Road Park. Cost of $4 . 86 million over four fiscal <br /> years (00 -03 ) . <br /> Playground Equipment at Existing Parks <br /> New playground equipment for Wilson, Baldwin, Carr Court and Anderson parks , <br /> proposed for FY 2009- 2010 at total cost of $ 362, 000 . <br /> Northern Community Park <br /> Proposed park to meet needs in northern area of Carrboro . Planned to include playing <br /> fields, playgrounds and picnic areas . Cost of $ 6 . 4 million in fiscal years 2010 and 2011 . <br /> Note; Orange Counoy Chapel Hill Township District Park may also serve this need. <br />
