I ve spent 15 years in the commercial construction industry in various roles <br /> and companies and have an understanding of zoning, planning and looking at the big picture of <br /> development. I spent 8 years in the US Army giving me the drive and organizational skills <br /> allowing me to focus my efforts in multiple areas like a career and service to my community. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> Deeply interested in having a part in the future growth and success of Orange County as we will <br /> call this area home forever. I want to show my children how important it is to be involved in your <br /> community. <br /> Contribution to the diversity of viewpoints on this board: <br /> I bring a viewpoint influenced by life experiences and general beliefs. In my lifetime I've ranged <br /> from necessity of government subsidy in a low income family, I've lived around the world, served <br /> in the military and have worked in the construction industry for the past 15 years alongside a <br /> strong immigrant labor force. I understand the need for diversity, utilization of resources, the <br /> need for affordable housing and the things that make Orange County such a special place to live <br /> and work. I've lived in Chapel Hill, Efland, Mebane and Durham over the last 20 years so I've <br /> seen the growth and changes and would love to contribute to the future of our area. <br />
