I ve seen the region grow significantly since 1986. 1 ve worked at Duke for 15 years <br /> and have seen the increase in congestion as employees commute to our local academic <br /> medical centers, Duke and UNC. I began attending Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro Metropolitan <br /> Planning Organization community presentations around 2007, as I became interesting in long <br /> range planning along the Highway 54 corridor. It was around that time I learned about the <br /> Durham Orange Light Rail Transit project, and became interested in supporting development of <br /> a better transit infrastructure in the Triangle area. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I m interested in serving on this board because I recognize the opportunity we have to reduce <br /> the impact of climate change through planning, including transit oriented development. Perhaps <br /> more importantly, I both volunteered and worked for a number of years with domestic violence <br /> organizations in Durham, Orange, and Chatham counties, as well as in the Atlanta area.
