The majority of land for the <br /> proposed parks shall be provided by public agencies throughout the <br /> County . Generally ,. the Master Plan recommends : <br /> • The development of community parks within Bingham , Cheeks , <br /> Cedar Grove_, Eno-, and Little River townships <br /> • Four district parks scattered throughout county <br /> • Construction of swimming pools at Chapel Hill and Orange High <br /> Schools <br /> In determining the priorities of park development and land acquisition , <br /> the Plan cites the requirement to consider immediate . or pressing <br /> needs of the community first . Priorities for land acquisition and <br /> development include the following . <br /> 1 . Providing equitable distribution of recreational opportunities <br /> 2 . Providing for areas of the County not currently being served <br /> 3 . Providing for the greatest number of possible users <br /> Chapel Hill Master Park and Recreation Plan <br /> Carrboro Master Park and Recreation Plan <br /> Hillsborough Park and Recreation Plan <br /> A brief summary of the Master Plan goals : <br /> A . Use the Town 's natural and historical heritage as a recreational <br /> resource <br /> B . Acquire and maintain a neighborhood park for informal use in each <br /> neighborhood <br /> C . Meet the recreational needs of the Town 's diverse population <br />
