Draft <br /> 3 / 24/ 99 <br /> Appendix A <br /> 1988 - Orange County Master Recreation and Parks Plan <br /> The primary recommendations for the provision of County - wide <br /> recreation services focus on specific policies for park development <br /> within the townships in the County . The majority of land for the <br /> proposed parks shall be provided by public agencies throughout the <br /> County . Generally , the Master Plan _ recommends : <br /> • The development of community parks within Bingham , Cheeks , <br /> Cedar Grove , Eno , and Little River townships <br /> • Four district parks scattered throughout county <br /> • Construction of swimming pools at Chapel Hill and Orange High <br /> Schools <br /> In determining the priorities of park development and land acquisition , <br /> the Plan cites the requirement to consider immediate or pressing <br /> needs of the community first . Priorities for land acquisition and <br /> development include the following . <br /> 1 . Providing equitable distribution of recreational opportunities <br /> 2 . Providing for areas of the County not currently being served <br /> 3 . Providing for the greatest number of possible users <br /> Chapel Hill Master Park and Recreation Plan <br /> Carrboro Master Park and Recreation Plan <br /> Hillsborough Park and Recreation Plan <br />
