Draft <br /> 3/24/99 <br /> Appendix A <br /> 1988 - Orange County Master Recreation and Parks Plan <br /> The primary recommendations for the provision of County-wide <br /> recreation services focus on specific policies for park <br /> development within the townships in the County . The majority of <br /> land for the proposed parks shall be provided by public agencies <br /> throughout the County . Generally , the Master Plan recommends . <br /> • The development of community parks within Bingham , <br /> Cheeks , Cedar Grove , Eno , and Little River townships <br /> • Four district parks scattered throughout county <br /> • Construction of swimming pools at Chapel Hill and Orange <br /> High Schools <br /> In determining the priorities of park development and land <br /> acquisition , the Plan cites the requirement to consider immediate <br /> or pressing needs of the community first . Priorities for land <br /> acquisition and development include the following : <br /> 1 . Providing equitable distribution of recreational <br /> opportunities <br /> 2 . Providing for areas of the County not currently being <br /> served <br /> 3 .
