7 . The County should aggressively participate in the planning and implementation of <br /> alternatives to traditional transportation systems in the region, including light rail <br /> systems , extensive bicycle paths , tele -working , etc . <br /> 8 . The County should initiate actions to reduce air pollutant emissions from the County ' s <br /> fleet of vehicles by use of alternative vehicles , improved vehicle maintenance , and <br /> reduction in vehicle miles traveled . <br /> 9 . The County should apply for Mobile Source Emissions Reduction Grants administered <br /> by the State Department of Environment and Natural Resources . <br /> 10 . The ERCD , with the assistance of the CfE , should develop initiatives that the County can <br /> implement to improve air quality in the County and especially to reduce the future <br /> negative impacts due to transportation issues . <br /> 11 . The ERCD and CfE should continue to identify issues , such as open burning , that <br /> negatively impact air quality in the County . <br /> 11 <br />
