However, because an ozone monitor is not located in the County, local ozone <br /> concentrations can not be determined . Nor can the County determine the impact of ozone <br /> precursor emissions from adjacent geographical areas on air quality in the County . <br /> Due to the proposed lowering of the ozone standard and addition of the PM2 . 5 standard, <br /> ozone , nitrogen oxides , hydrocarbons , PM2 . 5 , and PM , o are most likely to be the pollutants of <br /> greatest concern to the County in the coming years . Carbon monoxide is no longer of great <br /> concern. Advances in control technologies have reduced, but not eliminated, concerns about <br /> sulfur dioxide . <br /> 2 . 3 Historical Air Quality Data and Trends in the County and State <br /> Air quality data for the criteria pollutants are available from the North Carolina Division <br /> of Air Quality . Data can be retrieved from the EPA Aerometric Information Retrieval System <br /> (AIRS ) Air Quality Subsystem .
