Orange County Economic Development Commission <br /> Hillsborough , NC <br /> October 14, 2004 <br /> Minutes <br /> Present : Members : Alois Callemyn , Ruffin Slater, Susan Lombardo , Russ Seibert, James Walker, <br /> Robert Ward <br /> Staff : Dianne Reid , Yvonne Scarlett <br /> Guest : Karen Lincoln , Eric Hallman <br /> Ex Officio : John Link <br /> Absent , Anne Loeb ( excused ) , John Herrera , Barry Jacobs ( excused ) , Keith Cook ( excused ) , Eric <br /> Tillman <br /> Welcome <br /> Vice - Chair Ruffin Slater called the meeting to order at 5 : 06 p . m . Slater announced the reappointments of <br /> Alois Callemyn , Keith Cook, Anne Loeb , Bob Ward and the resignations of Laura Baldwin and Leslie Weaver . <br /> Minutes of the May 13 , 2004 , June 10 , 2004 , and August 12 , 2004 meetings were approved unanimously on a <br /> motion by Alois Callemyn , seconded by Bob Ward . <br /> Nominating Committee Report <br /> Alois Callemyn presented the candidates for Board Officers for 2004 - 2005 : Ruffin Slater as Chair, Susan <br /> Lombardo as Vice Chair, and Bob Ward as Secretary . The nominations were closed and the slate was <br /> accepted unanimously on a motion by Alois Callemyn , seconded by Russ Seibert . <br /> Transportation Improvement Program Process and Update <br /> Karen Lincoln , Transportation Planner for Orange County met with the EDC to explain the transportation <br /> improvement program process . Karen requested EDC input regarding Priority Transportation projects for the <br /> 2007 - 2013 State Transportation Improvement Program . Karen was asked to provide additional information <br /> and attend the November meeting . <br /> Strategic Planning Update <br /> A motion made by Alois Callemyn , seconded by Susan Lombardo was unanimously approved to adopt the <br /> Draft Strategic Plan . The next step will be to present the draft to the County Commissioners (time to be <br /> scheduled ) . Dianne Reid requested all EDC Board members to be involved with at least one workgroup . <br /> New Business <br /> Eric Hallman requested a joint meeting with the EDC , Hillsborough / Orange County Chamber, and the Town of <br /> Hillsborough officials .
