A rapid response was conducted for the Flynt Fabric plant in Hillsborough , N . C . <br /> Representatives from the Department of Education and Training , JOCCA , Durham <br /> Technical Community College , and The Employment Security Commission met with <br /> plant management staff in August . Plans were made at that time to go into the plant to <br /> present available services to the other employees . On September 13 , 2000 , the team <br /> presented the services during four individual sessions to approximately 60 employees . <br /> Sessions were held at 7 : 00 AM , 8 : 00 AM , 9 : 00 AM , 10 : 00 AM , and 4 : 00 PM . The <br /> employee population was 40 percent Hispanic . JOCCA provided a translator to relay the <br /> information in Spanish . The employees requested a wide variety of services . As a result <br /> of these meetings , The Durham Technical Community College will set up GED classes in <br /> Hillsborough and enroll some of the other employees in Nurses Aide and other classes . <br /> JOCCA will assess employees in various training activities . The Employment Security <br /> Commission will assist with job search and other activities . <br /> The Skills Development/JobLink Center scheduled specialized workshops during the <br /> month of July . These workshops were held in the Centers Resource Room and were <br /> designed for job seekers that were looking for special help . All sessions were conducted <br /> on Fridays , and included sessions on Using the Internet for Job Search , Creating Your <br /> Resume , and Impressing Employers with Your Interview/Application . <br /> 6 <br />
