Jobfink Activity <br /> JOCCA staff attended the following training , meetings and workshops : <br /> Three staff attended the "Man to Man Conference " . <br /> Three staff attended the "Winning through Work Conference" . <br /> Two staff attended the Casa Works meeting . <br /> One staff attended a Child Abuse & Neglect Workshop . <br /> Two staff attended Juvenile Justice Training . <br /> Two staff attended three Juvenile Court sessions . <br /> Two staff attended four Child Support Court sessions . <br /> Two staff presented the Orange County Youth Program to the WorkForce Development <br /> Board . <br /> Two staff attended a grant writing workshop . <br /> A computer and a typewriter were purchased for the JobLink Center . <br /> Good Work Quarter Program Activities were as follows : <br /> Informational session was held on June 26 , 2001 . <br /> Good Work staff participated in cross training activities , Leadership meetings , <br /> and the Resource Room sub- committee . <br /> From April 14 , 2001 through May 19 , 2001 , Good Work held it first Orange County <br /> "Build Your Business" class in Spanish utilizing a Spanish curriculum and Spanish — <br /> Speaking instructor . <br /> Orange County Disability Awareness Council Quarterly Report <br /> During this quarter , the OCDAC has served 53 people that consisted of forty one males <br /> and twelve females . <br /> There have been several changes to the council. One such change is that the OCDAC has <br /> started working towards becoming a service providing organization, instead of only <br /> being an advocacy group . In addition, we are working with the ARC of Orange County <br /> by participating in the nine -week summer field placement program. This involves having <br /> a work coach work with clients from the ARC in the OCDAC office , performing data <br /> entry, filing and various other tasks . We recently obtained two students from Chapel Hill <br /> High School service learning program to help with other needs we have . <br /> The OCDAC is presently in the process of seeking grant funding to help us reach our <br /> full potential to better serve the community. <br /> There has also been a newly elected president as of June12 , 2001 , which is Frank <br /> Abernethy. <br /> 4 <br />
