Staff will provide an updated membership list to all members . <br /> Achievements and Outcomes <br /> Lucy Lewis explained that a new approach and format for the annual budget and reporting of objectives , <br /> outcomes , and measures had been distributed at the previous day ' s department head meeting . She will have <br /> to revise the document for discussion at February ' s meeting . <br /> Committee Meetings <br /> Members and prospective members divided into one of three committees - Advocacy, Families and Children, <br /> and Women ' s Health and Well-being to discuss their next steps . Each group then reported back to the large <br /> group . <br /> Women ' s Health and Well - being <br /> Deborah Van Dyken reported that the committee ' s next project would be a Family Law series . Local <br /> attorneys will be asked to present on topics including custody - and child support ; divorce and visitation ; <br /> alimony and equitable distribution ; domestic violence and child abuse ; adoption , grandparents rights and <br /> termination of parental rights . The format will consist of a 40 minute presentation, followed by time for <br /> questions and answers . Other issues for future consideration by the committee include equitable funding of <br /> high school sports , child abuse concerns and monitoring judges ' records regarding decisions in those cases . <br /> The committee will meet on February 13 at 6pm at Bandidos Restaurant in Hillsborough , preceding the <br /> Commission meeting . <br /> Advocacy <br /> This committee will focus on reporting on and getting feedback regarding the status report on Orange <br /> County women at township meetings . The committee will meet again on Wednesday, January 29 at 6pm at. <br /> the Commission for Women offices at 110 S . Churton Street in Hillsborough . Staff will make reminder <br /> calls . <br /> Women and Children <br /> This committee will meet on February 13 at 6pm at the Saratoga Grill in Hillsborough preceding the <br /> Commission meeting . <br /> Women ' s History Month Committee <br /> Lucy reported that Peachee Wicker is working on researching first women , and if she is able to identify a <br /> sufficient number, she will work with Linda Carver on a Women ' s History Month reception in March . <br /> Retreat <br /> Members agreed to hold the annual retreat on Saturday, April 12 from 10am- 3pm . <br /> Announcements <br /> • One of the MLK, Jr . Birthday observances will be held on Monday, January 20 at 7 : 30 pm at Lee ' s <br /> Chapel in Cedar Grove <br /> • NC Equity will be holding its annual statewide Agenda Assembly on Saturday, February 1 .
