3 . Using detection structures to reduce the rate of runoff <br /> leaving the site . <br /> 4 . Building types , parking layouts , etc . must be selected <br /> and located with respect to the natural topography to <br /> minimize grading and preserve sensitive areas . <br /> 5 . The rate of runoff from the site must not be increased <br /> over pre - development conditions , <br /> 6 . The stormwater management-system-must respect existing <br /> drainage patterns , <br /> 7 .
