RECREATION AND PARK WORK GROUP (RPWG) Review of Meeting on October 19 , 1995 Work Group Members : Hank Anderson, Rosemary Waldorf, Bill Crowther, Gary Barnes, Lorraine Parker, Doris Murrell Other Interested Persons : Keith Cook, Lee Pavao, Martin Feinstein Staf Richard Kinney, Bob Jones, Mike Loveman I . Hank Anderson opened the meeting . II . Subcommittee reports were presented on the following topics : Park Standards and Local Ordinances, Public/Private Recreation Service Providers, and School/Government Coordination. The Work Group discussed each subject in great detail . III . The Work Group decided to fold the Public/Private Recreation Service Providers and School/Government Coordination topics into the format of the report on " Park Standards and Local Ordinance Comparison" and include a final section for recommendations to the Orange County Assembly of Governments . The staff for these two committees will provide the lead agency (Carrboro) formatted reports and any items to be included in the appendix by November 10, 1995 . The lead agency will strive to send out with the November agenda a draft of the full report. IV. The Work Group decided that a recommendation be written that requests the jurisdictions ' Planning Departments attempt to develop and write the most advantageous recreation and park requirements for all Orange County governments to include in their Land Use Ordinance . Common environmental concerns should be addressed, i. e . Bolin Creek, Morgan Creek, etc . Further direction was given to include a draft school/park agreement in the report. v. The November 16, 1995 meeting at Orange County' s Homestead Center was moved up in time to 4 : 30 p . m . A dinner will be provided since many members have to attend another meeting afterwards .
