Define search area as that within the Orange County Primary Water-Sewer <br />Service Area and the Hillsborough Primary Service Area, but not inside <br />Hillsborough planning jurisdiction. <br />2. Search for properties by the following acreage ranges <br />• Elementary: 16.00 - 21.99 <br />• Middle: 22.00 - 44.99 <br />• High: 45.00 -.100.00 <br />3. Minimal buildings on property or building value below $ 5,000. <br />4. No floodplains or wetlands (at least not in central portion of property, may be <br />OK on fringes. <br />5. Phase I searches resulted in following potential sites <br />• Elementary: 58 <br />• Middle: 68 <br />• High: 61 <br />Phase II: Review and Refine Results from Phase I <br />1. Delete properties owned by State, County, Duke University, churches, and <br />other quasi-public entities. <br />2. Do second round of deletions based upon: <br />• Property being developed or approved for development <br />• Parcels with irregular shapes (e.g., long and narrow) not contiguous to <br />other potential sites <br />• Parcels split by study area boundary with large part lying outside <br />• Dangerous access (primary access requires crossing railroad) <br />• Sites surrounded by residential development with primary access via <br />subdivision streets <br />• Sites in EDDs where schools are not permitted uses <br />3.
