Agency's Purpose/Mission(no more than a few sentences): The Annual Community Dinner is a community <br /> building endeavor celebrating our community's rich cultural diversity through community interaction,food <br /> and entertainment. It is not a fund raising event. Its purpose is to be as inclusive as possible of all members <br /> of our community from economically challenged families to people with disabilities to culturally diverse <br /> groups. Our purpose is to foster community harmony,social well-being and cultural understanding. <br /> 3. Please provide a brief description of your organization's past achievements in carrying out similar <br /> projects and evidence of successful record of meeting proposed budgets and timetables (no more than <br /> 100 words).We are applying for funding for our 23d Dinner in 2020. Our 22r'Dinner to be held on April <br /> 28rn 2019 at McDougle School, Chapel Hill NC 27516 is being funded by a Performance Agreement grant <br /> for$1000 from the Town of Chapel Hill and monetary and in kind donations from other organizations. <br /> Those who can do pay for tickets to help subsidize the even t-$3.00 for children 10 and under,$8.00 for <br /> adults. To date we have involved over 18,000 local residents in this project either as volunteers, <br /> entertainers,participants or in kind donors. We have always operated within our budget and any excess <br /> funds have been invested in underwriting tickets for families and persons in need to enable them to <br /> attend the event.Any excess food is donated to the IFC men's and women's shelters. We are 96%waste <br /> free and are used by Orange County Waste Management as an example of how an event should be run. <br /> They process all biodegradable waste at the event itself and use the experience as a teaching tool for <br /> young volunteers at the Dinner. <br /> 4.
