As Chair-Elect for the national Animal Welfare <br /> Committee(AWCI for the American Veterinary Medical Association(AVMA) <br /> she has the opportunity to steer animal welfare policy nationally.Additionally,Dr.Robertson serves on the <br /> AWC far the California Veterinary Medical Association,representing shelter veterinarians state-wide.Her <br /> passion for statistics and metrics earned her a position with the Advisory Board of Shelter Animals Count(SAC), <br /> the national shelter database project,while also serving a multi-year term on the Editorial Board for the Journal <br /> of Feline Medicine and Surgery, { <br /> From 2007 to 2013,Dr.Robertson worked as the Lead Veterinarian in charge of animal cruelty investigations <br /> and Medical Director for Oakland Animal Services.Her work in Oakland and during her three-year residency in <br /> Shelter Medicine at the UC-Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program focused on statistical analysis of animal <br /> sheltering,infectious disease,and population flow.Dr.Robertson has spent extensive time working with <br /> shelters on their organizational structure.She is a nationally recognized expert is assessing medical teams, <br /> I <br /> animal care teams,management teams,and outreach programs, Dr.Robertson has completed numerous audits, <br /> organizational assessments,and community assessments for municipal,county,and nonprofit animal welfare <br /> organizations. She is an internationally recognized speaker on topics of leadership,shelter medicine,and <br /> veterinary forensics. <br /> Dr.Robertson completed her veterinary degree and residency from UC-Davis and her undergraduate degree <br /> from Princeton University.She is boarded with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Shelter <br /> Medicine.Dr.Robertson has over 20 years of scientific research experience,'including Lyme•s disease and canine a <br /> respiratory disease.When not consulting around the world,she resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her <br /> husband,three children,two dogs,two cats,one tortoise and various fish. <br /> 7 <br />
