12 <br /> <br />Robert Dowling said it has been a privilege to serve the County all these years, and <br />thanked the Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County for their ongoing support. He said there <br />are currently 322 homes in the inventory, with a market value of over $50 million. He said <br />none of this would have been possible without the support of local governments and the <br />community. He offered additional thanks to the Manager for her support and understanding. <br /> <br />d. Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness – 2019 Data Update <br />The Board reviewed updated data about homelessness in Orange County submitted to <br />the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) earlier this year. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness (OCPEH) was created <br />in 2008 to coordinate funding and activities to end homelessness in Orange County. OCPEH is <br />jointly funded by Orange County (39%) and the Towns of Carrboro (15%), Chapel Hill (41%), <br />and Hillsborough (5%). <br /> <br />OCPEH Coordinator Corey Root will present the updated data and discuss how current data <br />relate to identified gaps in the homeless service system, including rapid re-housing and street <br />outreach programs. <br /> <br />Corey Root said she usually makes this presentation earlier in the year, but she has <br />been out on maternity leave.
